Service Description
Offers a four-hour, virtual, mental health literacy workshop for farmers and the agriculture community at no cost. Designed specifically for farmers, their families and those who are involved and/or support the agriculture sector. Workshop is facilitated by mental health professionals. Covers topics such as:
- Understanding stress, anxiety, depression, acute trauma, suicide and substance use
- Recognizing signs and symptoms of mental distress
- Learning approaches for engaging in safe conversations
- Finding appropriate people and/or organizations that can provide support.
The program is called “In the Know” and is based off of and similar to the Mental Health First Aid program, but it is tailored to farmers and uses real life examples. It frames mental health in an easy to understand, relevant way that farmers can relate to. Visit the website for more information.
