Busy Bee Day Care

A licensed child care facility that provides care and supervision for up to 20 children between the ages of six weeks and 12 years. Child Care Subsidy accepted.

Philosophy

• Daycare will provide Ferland and surrounding communities with a licensed, educational daycare where children can learn, play and socialize in a warm, safe and inviting environment.
• Daycare intends to ensure each child’s developmental needs are met through the provision of the daily program.
• Children are involved in planning activities by suggestion and evaluating activities and themes.
• Free play occurs for a substantial portion of the day, both indoors and outdoors, with supervision used with educational interaction. 

Programs and Activities

• Provide enough age appropriate activities to keep children involved and not bored.
• Provide multiples of toys, especially favourites.
• Allow enough time for activities to keep children from feeling rushed.
• Providing good supervision, the educators give children responsibilities and let them help while encouraging independence and pride in their accomplishments.

Nutrition

• Staff preparing snacks and meals have a FoodSafe Certificate. 
• Follow Canada’s Food Guide.
• Provide snacks at 10am and 3pm, lunch at noon.
• Snacks include a fruit or vegetable. Milk and water is offered.
• Lunch includes a vegetable or fruit; a grain product; milk or milk alternative: and meat – water if offered.
• If children have special diets, parents are asked to supply whatever is needed.  (ie: lactose free milk; gluten free snacks; formula for infants, etc)
