Service Description
Prepares personal tax returns for individuals who have a low income and simple tax situation.
- Not affiliated with the Government of Canada Community Volunteer Income Tax Program.
- During the tax season runs from March 1 – April 30, 2024
- During the off season runs Wednesdays
- Note: may not be able to answer complex tax questions and does not prepare complex tax returns. Visit canada.ca/taxes or call 1-800-959-8281 for complex tax information.
Eligibility
Current and prior years. Individuals must have a modest income and a simple tax situation. The following information provides a guideline to determine what is considered a modest income. In general, a modest income means the total family income is less than the amount shown in the chart below, based on the size of the family. Family Size / Total Family Income: -1 person / $35,000 -2 people / $45,000 -3 people / 47,500 -4 people / 50,000 -5 people / 52,500 - 5+ people / $52,500, plus $2,500 for each additional person. (Family Size includes an individual, or a couple, and their dependents) Visit the website for further details.
Application Process
March 2024 - Appointments available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and walk-ins on Thursday.
April 2024 - Walk-ins on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.
Documents Required
Contact the centre for details. Volunteers need your tax slips and receipts to prepare your income tax and benefit return. If you are missing a tax slip, you may be able to get a copy online - click here for further information.
