Volunteer Tax Preparation Clinic (aka Community Volunteer Income Tax Program, CVITP)

Volunteers help prepare personal tax returns for individuals who have low income and a simple tax situation. Typically runs from March - April.
Taxpayers who have a simple tax situation and a low to modest income:
-Single Person annual income up to $30,000
-Couple annual income up to $40,000
-Three person family annual income up to $42,500
-Each additional family member up to $2,500.
Will complete current and prior year's returns.
Volunteers do not prepare complex returns, such as returns for individuals who: have self-employment income; have business or rental income and expenses; have capital gains or losses; have employment expenses; file for bankruptcy; deceased in the year.

Clients (or client representatives) are required to bring with them all income tax related forms to assist in completing their returns (for example: T4, RC62, T4RSP, T4A, T4A(OAS), T4A(P), T2202A, etc.).
