Child Care

A licensed child care home that provides care and supervision for up to eight children between the ages of six weeks and 12 years. Operated in the provider’s private residence. Child Care Subsidy accepted.

Philosophy

• Encourages a cooperative and supportive relationship with the parents.
• Each child is an individual and the child care provider works with each child to develop all of their individual needs to the best of their potential.
• Supports the child’s social, emotional, physical, cognitive and language needs to the best of their abilities and knowledge.
• To provide a safe, nurturing, and aesthetically pleasing environment with room to explore.
• To provide a variety of materials and equipment that is developmentally appropriate for each child’s needs.
• To keep up to date on information about child development as well as daycare policies and government regulations.
• To make daycare a place where children want to come to have fun, play, and socialize with friends.

Programs and Activities

• Daycare home has a wide range of ages of children so the programming is open according to the ages that are in attendance.
• Meal times and nap times are scheduled.
• Indoor and outdoor play are available.
• A wide variety of materials and equipment are available to access – books, manipulatives, puzzles, games, dramatic play, blocks (large variety), large motor and small motor play such as balls, skipping ropes, climbing, swinging, cutting, pasting, cause and effect toys, cooking, dancing, other creative movement activities, dolls, trucks, cars, animals, etc.
• Outdoor play has climbing apparatus, swings, play houses, dome climber, cars, sandbox toys, balls, basketball net, and more.
• Large play area in basement- dress up clothes, ride and climb on fire truck, bouncing horse, play kitchen, doll house, train play station, and a lot more.
• A large variety of craft and art materials, paint, play dough, glue, scissors, stickers, stamps, stencils, open ended materials, paper all types, and more.
• Children have the choice to do as they want with proper supervision at all times.

Nutrition

• Provides all meals and they are planned according to the Canada Food Guide and provided as indicated in the Daycare Regulations.
• Appropriate and nutritious meals are provided, but no child will be forced to eat, but encouraged to try something new.  
• Adults will provide meals for children on special diets, and or for children who refuse to eat the meals prepared at the daycare on a continual basis.
