Organization Description

Promotes and carries out campaigns and initiatives of the Canadian Labour Congress. The day-to-day operation of SDLC is undertaken by volunteer and elected trade union activists. Labour council ensures that Labour has a visible role to play in the community and is involved in many aspects of social justice and equity issues.

Responsible for making sure that historical labour dates such as the Day of Mourning (April 28th – for workers killed or injured on the job) and Labour Day are commemorated and celebrated. Visit the website for more information.
