Service Description
Offers two to three days worth of emergency food for anyone in Saskatoon and area (a 50 km radius). Provides two hampers per month.
- Emergency Food Hampers – Contain items like whole grain pasta and cereal, pasta sauce, peanut butter, frozen meat, breads and buns, and coffee or tea.
- Milk for Children – Provides one litre of fresh milk at each visit for each child (ages 17 and under) and pregnant and nursing women
- Infant Nutrition – Available upon request. Also provides jars of baby food and infant cereals for all children under one year of age (depends on supply)
- Dietary Restrictions – Can accommodate dietary restrictions (i.e. gluten/nut/dairy allergy, vegetarian diet, halal).
NOTE: The food bank provides Emergency Food Hampers to anyone requesting one. There are no restrictions for qualifying for a hamper.
Eligibility
Must be a resident of Saskatoon and area (50 kilometer radius). There are no restrictions for qualifying for a hamper.
Application Process
Apply for an Emergency Food Hamper in person.
Documents Required
You will need identification for each member of the family and something to indicate that you are a resident of Saskatoon and area (i.e. bill, letter or rent receipt). NOTE: If circumstances make it difficult to provide identification, let the food bank know that you are unable to provide identification.
