The Ombudsman’s office takes complaints from people who think they have been treated unfairly by a provincial ministry, agency, Crown corporation and or health entity. They also take complaints about Saskatchewan cities, towns, villages, resort villages, rural municipalities, northern municipalities and municipal council members. The Ombudsman is impartial and can help resolve problems informally or through investigation.

The Ombudsman is also the Public Interest Disclosure Commissioner. Public sector employees who think a wrongdoing has been or is about to be committed in their workplace can seek advice or make a disclosure to the Commissioner’s Office or a designated officer at their workplace. Those who seek advice or make a disclosure are protected from reprisals. The Commission’s Office can investigate complaints of reprisal.
