Organization Description

Chinook Regional Library has 31 Branch libraries and 13 Corner libraries serving Southwest Saskatchewan. The library covers an area of 49,949 sq. km. (19,286 sq. miles) and serves a population of 47,337.

Each branch varies in size, hours of operation, and the extent of the services offered to the public.

Branches may provide:

  • Selection of books (regular and large print), DVDs, CDs, video games, kits, sheet music and more

  • Online digital library (e-books, e-audiobooks, movies, learning programs) available 24/7

  • Various literacy programs for all ages and abilities (children, youth, adults, seniors, newcomers, people with disabilities, etc.)

  • Workshops on various topics

  • A wide variety of recreational, educational, cultural and economic programming for all ages

The Corner Libraries are small volunteer libraries which provide an honour-system lending service only (no library cards needed) using donations from Chinook’s withdrawn items.
