Service Description
Provides counselling services to individuals, families and communities to help them sustain an environment of safety and well-being. First Nations cultural traditions, practices and ceremonies are supported to build strong children, youth and families. Areas of counselling include:
- sexual, emotional, physical, and/or spiritual abuse
- stress
- suicidal ideation
- trauma and PTSD (post traumatic stress syndrome)
- self injury
- depression
- grief and loss
- eating disorders
- OCD (obsessive compulsive disorders)
- bipolar disorders
- panic disorders
- social anxiety disorders
- phobias
- self esteem and self image problems
- struggles related from attending residential schools
- the effects of being involved in the residential school compensation process.
NOTE: Some counsellors may not be registered with a provincial regulatory body. Contact the office for more information.
