Service Description
Offers language assessments and language training to refugees and immigrants in the Regina area.
- Language Training – Provides quality, settlement-based English language training to adult refugees and immigrants to help them adapt to life in Regina and use English in their everyday lives. A variety of options are available to suit individual needs and schedules. All classes are conducted by accredited, highly-trained teachers. Daycare, interpretation and transportation supports are available.
- Full-time, part-time morning, and part-time afternoon classes Monday to Friday
- Evening classes two or four evenings a week
- Provincially licensed childcare on-site
- Downtown location.
- Language Assessments – Offers two kinds of Language Assessment.
- CLBPT (Canadian Language Benchmarks Placement Test) – is a free language placement test for Work Permit holders who are eligible for provincially-funded English classes.
- CELPIP (Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program) is an English language proficiency test for immigration and professional designation.

Eligibility
Prior to registering for RODS language programs, all clients need to complete an assessment to determine their language level.
To be eligible for RODS LINC classes, persons must:
- be permanent resident of Canada, protected person or refugee
- be eighteen (18) years or older, and
- be assessed at any level from Literacy to CLB 4 on the Canadian Language Benchmark Placement Test (CLBPT).
NOTE: Work Permit holders or recent Canadian citizens who are eighteen (18) years or older, might be eligible for Stage 1 and 2 English classes.
Application Process
Prior to registering for RODS language programs, all clients need to complete an assessment to determine their language level.
Step 1 - Take the Canadian Language Benchmarks Placement Test (CLBPT). To book an appointment with LARC, contact the Language Assessment Referral Centre (LARC) at 100-2445 13th Avenue, Regina or call 306-525-5272.
Step 2 - Once the LARC assessment is done, you need to bring your assessment referral card and landing paper to Regina Open Door Society (RODS) - English Services - 1855 Smith Street, Regina. Phone number is 306-352-4600.
