Service Description

Provides eligible former residential school students with access to emotional health and wellness support services, including:

  • Professional counselling
  • Emotional support
  • Cultural support provided by Elders
  • Assistance with the cost of transportation to allow individuals to access services not available in the home community
  • Appeals assistance

Eligibility

All former Indian Residential Schools (IRS) students (regardless of status or place of residence) who are:
-Eligible to receive or who are currently receiving the Common Experience Payment;
-Resolving a claim through the Independent Assessment Process, Alternative Dispute Resolution or court process; or
-Participating in Truth and Reconciliation or Commemoration event.

The application process is complete, although staff are still offering support to those that are going through their IAP hearings.
