Philosophy
- Centre strives to provide a secure, happy, enriching and loving atmosphere.
- Centre uses developmentally appropriate practices to provide a safe, supportive and nurturing environment where children develop physically, socially, emotionally, cognitively and spiritually.
- Centre believes the centre should be an extension of the child’s home where the director, staff and parents work together to support the child.
Programs and Activities
- Centre follows Play & Exploration, which is an early learning program guide provided by the Ministry of Education – it is a resource for educators to promote high-quality, age-appropriate, play-based learning experiences for younger children.
- The educator creates an environment that reflects children’s strengths and interests, which supports the child’s holistic growth.
- Centre goes on field trips and invites helpers from the community to come in and show what they do.
- Centre celebrates diversity.
Nutrition
- Centre follows the Canada Food Guide, at times providing traditional foods from different cultures for the children to try.
- Centre provides breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack.
- Parents are to provide food or milk if their child has allergies.
